Not your mommy's Carpenter!! Spencer @ Nick

Game 1 Chris Carpenter @ Hank (Homer) Bailey

This game between heated rivals was over in the 2nd inning, as Spencer scored five runs on RBIs from Ryan Braun, Ryan Howard and Chris Carpenter's RBI double. Carpenter would drive in another run in the 6th inning, oh...and he pitched a 2-hit, complete game shutout. Spencer wins 6-0.

WIN - Carpenter CG, 2H, 2BB, 10K

LOSS - Bailey 3.0, 6H, 5ER, 2BB, 7K

** Spencer lost Andres Torres for the next game and lost Jimmy Rollins for 6 more games as Rollins collided with Nick's pitcher Santiago Casilla at 1st base. Casilla was injured for the series.

Game 2 Brett Meyers' Wife Beater Inc. @ Roy "I own a dumptruck" Oswalt

Spencer took an early 2-1 lead on Brandon Phillips' 2-RBI double in the 2nd. Nick would take the lead in the 4th as Andrea Ethier drove home Prince and Dave Wright-Nevicosi drove home Ethier.

Spencer would take the lead for good thanks to a pinch-hit RBI double by Dee Lee. Tim Stauffer scattered two hits over the final three innings to pick up his 2nd 3-inning save of 2011. Spencer wins 5-3.

Game 3 "Oscar" Jaime Garcia @ Tom Hanson

Spencer once again jumped out to an early lead as Jay Bruce socked his 3rd HR of the year and a Alfonso Soriano error led to Humberto Quintero driving in Scott Rolen. Nick would answer back hard in the 3rd inning as RBI's from Carlos Gonzalez, Erik Hinske, Dave Wright, and Sarlin Castro made it 5-2 Nick.

Humberto Quintero's solo HR in the 4th made it 5-3 Nick. Geovany Toko and Hinske scored runs in the 5th and 7th innings to make it 7-3 Nick after 7 innings. Spencer would score three runs in the 8th innning off Nick's gay lover, Steve Strasburg, to make it close, but Luke Gregerson closed that door. NICK WINS 7-6. SPENCER TAKES SERIES 2-1.

  3. Nick at 4-8, Keith at 3-6 now? What is going on? Will this be the PTP season of the haves and the have nots? Or will all the hot starts cool and things return to normalcy?

Let's keep playing games and find out.

  4. This series was very humbling. I saw my loosing streak go to SIX STRAIGHT GAMES (one from Mario, Torto sweep, two from Spens)! Only saving grace, I guess, is the fact that I now have a one-game winning streak going. Baby steps. I need a shake-up, frankly, so I am ready, willing and able to trade. Anyone.
